Frequently asked questions

Everything you want to know before the start.

What does Ligaroo cost?

Taking part in the monthly league is free.

Is Ligaroo available for clubs too?

Yes, and free for clubs: set up teams, add training times, check in at training with a photo. Then your club sees who turned up how often. More on the For clubs page.

Do I need a sports watch?

No. You can log sessions manually, up to one hour a day. With a watch, fitness app or file, everything counts with no upper limit.

Which sports count?

Any sport where you move under your own steam: running, walking, cycling, swimming, football, strength, yoga, climbing, rowing and many more. E-bikes and motorised journeys don’t count.

How are my points calculated?

Using an open formula: 1 point per km running, 0.4 per km cycling, 4 per km swimming, 2 to 10 per hour for everything else, depending on sport and intensity. With the calculator you can check any session yourself.

What’s the daily bonus?

Every day with at least 20 minutes of exercise earns an extra point. Several sessions on the same day are added together. That way consistency pays off, for beginners too.

Can I use my Strava runs?

Yes. Upload your activity file (GPX or FIT). From December, runs from Strava, Komoot and other apps will come into the app automatically via Apple Health or Health Connect.

What happens to my data?

We only store your session’s key figures: duration, distance, elevation gain and points. We don’t store your route. Uploaded files and photos are deleted after review, no later than 30 days after the end of the month.

Who sees me in the table?

All participants see your display name, your age group and your points. You choose your display name yourself, for example your first name and the first letter of your surname.

Can I take part as a pair?

Yes, in the duo category. When signing up, tick “I also want to compete as a duo”. You’ll then get a duo link for your partner. If they sign up through it, you’re a duo. Your points are added together, and rankings are split into women’s, men’s and mixed duos. Your individual ranking carries on regardless, and the duo stays together for the whole month.

Are there jobs on Ligaroo too?

Yes, planned from 2027: if you like, the app shows you vacancies from companies in your region that are active on Ligaroo. It’s voluntary and can be switched off at any time. You apply directly with the company.

Who’s behind Ligaroo?

A team of two founders under the Puls & Pause umbrella: pro triathlete Jan Höing, who developed the formula, and Andreas Fritsch, who builds the website and app and looks after sign-up, data protection and tech.
